Broiler Gas Savings
The old technology broilers are designed to run all of the time, constantly burning gas, even when not cooking in standby mode. This wasted gas is money out the door. Great for the utility company " not great for your bottom line.
The Duke Flexible Batch Broiler is different. The burners cycle on and off during idle and cooking modes. The cooking chamber is sealed, so there is little waste heat. In fact, there are times when the Duke broiler is cooking with all burners turned off.
Broiler Electric Savings
In addition to natural gas, the old technology broilers rely on 208-240 V, 18 to 24 amp electricity to cook all items. Very little electricity is used in the Duke Flexible Batch Broiler. In fact, electricity is used only to turn the cook chain at the end of each cycle, and to power the control panel. The Duke Flexible Batch Broiler requires only a standard 110 volt 4 amp outlet.
Vent Hood Electric Savings
All broilers need a vent hood to expel gas fumes and smoke generated from cooking. How hard the vent hood has to work to effectively do its job will affect your utility costs. The old technology broilers require more air flow through the vent hood because the broilers use more gas and produce more waste heat than the Flexible Batch Broiler " 10 to 35%, according to some studies.

Combine these design features and you'll find that the Duke Flexible Batch Broiler is faster to clean than any other broiler; on average a crew saves 30 minutes per day when compared to other restaurant broiler cleaning operations " or more time, depending on broiler model.
